Major in Data Science
Overview
The Data Science major will equip students with the in-depth programming skills needed to extract usable information from data sources. It emphasizes concepts, insights, and skills that will enable students to use current technologies and adapt to and create new technologies. Students will be able to process and analyze data sets, including big data; use mathematical and statistical modeling techniques, machine learning, and data mining to solve challenging problems; and communicate their findings to different audiences.
