Program Overview


This 1.5-year (full-time) Master of Science in Medicine (Advanced) in Sexual and Reproductive Health allows students to design and conduct supervised research in these areas. Guided by experts, students develop advanced knowledge and skills in sexual and reproductive health issues, including HIV, STIs, and psychosexual therapy. Graduates can pursue advanced roles in various fields, such as fertility medicine, HIV medicine, sexual health counseling, and more.

Degree Overview:

This course builds on the knowledge you've gained during our Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health), allowing high-achieving students to plan and carry out a supervised research project.


Outline:

  • Program Duration: 1.5 years full-time (Available part-time)
  • Credit Points: 60 total credit points
  • Modules:
  • 48 credit points are credited based on the successful completion of the Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health).
  • 12 credit points of project units of study.
  • Students complete a research project in an area of specific interest relevant to their Masters degree. Students will be guided through the steps required to plan and execute a substantial research project, and prepare a scholarly work which may be a paper for publication.

  • Acquire skills recognised as essential components of the professional training in HIV and STIs, sexology/sexual health counselling/psychosexual therapy and reproductive health and fertility.

  • Distance Education: This course is available to study via Distance Education.
  • Please note that Distance Education students will be required to attend exams and compulsory face to face teaching sessions in Sydney for some units of study.
