Overview of University Programs

The University of Sydney offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various disciplines.

Program Details

  • The University provides Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, which include single Units of Study.
    • These units are designed to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain and update knowledge, enhance career pathways, or explore personal interests.
    • The subjects are open to professionals with or without prior higher education in these fields.
  • The units of study span a range of specialist areas, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Intelligent Building Controls, and Building Economics.
    • Many of these units are offered for the first time in Australia at the postgraduate level.
  • The CPD credits will not count towards a postgraduate award unless the individual chooses to enroll as a part-time or full-time student.
    • In this case, the individual will be required to fulfill the appropriate assessment tasks.

Admission, Fees, and Application Process

  • Admission as a non-award student is assessed by the School of Architecture, Design, and Planning on an individual basis.
  • The standard closing dates for applications are:
    • Semester 1: 31 January of the same year
    • Semester 2: 15 July of the same year
  • Applications are made directly to the University, and applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
    • Offers are made on a rolling basis, and places are limited.

Starting Dates

  • Semester 1: February
  • Semester 2: August

Admission Requirements

  • These Units of Study are available only to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, and citizens of New Zealand.
  • Participants are expected to complete the assessment work, and if successfully completed, will be eligible to receive credit towards a future degree.
