Master of Science in Engineering Management

The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) is a collaboration between the Riccio College of Engineering and the Isenberg School of Management. This 10-course program engages faculty from both schools for a high-quality, truly interdisciplinary course of study.

Program Overview

The MSEM program brings a business perspective to solving complex systems problems. In addition to deepening engineering skills, the program builds business acumen, teaching students to plan projects, manage integrated teams, refine internal processes, and make data-driven decisions.

Program Structure

The program offers three options for added flexibility:

• Complete the degree fully online
• Complete the degree fully on campus
• Complete the degree in a hybrid fashion This streamlined 30-credit-hour program can be completed in 12 years.

Field Experience Concentration

The field experience concentration allows students to focus on practical application inside the classroom through project-heavy courses and outside the classroom on internships, co-ops, or practicum opportunities.

Curriculum

The MSEM curriculum includes a wide selection of technical and management courses, independent studies, and industry practicum opportunities to match career goals.

The program offers a flexible degree with a flexible format, curriculum, and schedule. Students can start as non-degree students with just one course or with the stackable 3-course Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management and Leadership.

• MIE 671: Product Management - Learn the principles of effective product management, from concept to market.
• MIE 621: Descriptive Analytics - Explore the fundamentals of data analysis to gain valuable insights.
• SCH-MGMT 636: Negotiation Theory and Practice - Master the art of negotiation to create win-win scenarios and effectively manage conflicts in engineering contexts.
