The course focuses on the final stages of a clinical trial, including statistical analysis, interpretation of results, and presentation of findings.

The course is divided into two blocks of teaching, each lasting one week.

The course covers the following modules:
• Rationale and main features of statistical analysis methods used in parallel randomised controlled trials
• Health economic evaluations within trials
• Common problems that arise in the analysis of trials
• Critical evaluation of published trials
• Principles of trial reporting

Assessment:

• 2000-word extended writing (60%)
• Exhibition/poster display (20%)
• 1500-word critical appraisal (20%)
