Program Overview

This module explores the mechanisms regulating the cardiovascular and respiratory systems during exercise. Students will learn about afferent signals, central command, and coupling between these systems. They will also examine factors affecting blood flow in active muscle and the brain, and how these mechanisms change with training, aging, and diseases like hypertension and COPD.
