Students can declare the certificate as an addition to their current degree or as a standalone program while establishing non-matriculated status.

Degree Overview:
All students will begin with a solid foundation of introductory level screenwriting skills as well as key components of strong storytelling. As they move through the certificate, they will be able to decide if they want to focus more on feature film writing or television writing as elective options are created and added to the certificate as the Digital Media Collaborative continues to grow. Students will also have a solid understanding of the business side of screenwriting in order to best be able to market their artistic work.
Other:
- Students already pursuing a degree in any college at UC can add the certificate to their program.
- Students not currently pursuing a degree may declare the certificate after establishing non-matriculated status.
- To receive the certificate in Screenwriting for Film and Television, students will be required to do the following:
- Declare officially and enroll electronically in the certificate through the web portal in A&S, CCM or DAAP.
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA in courses offered for the certificate.
