Degree Overview:
The Exploratory Studies (EXPL) program is designed for students who are not yet ready to declare a specific major. The program helps students adjust to college life and begin the academic planning process by exploring their interests and researching possible majors and careers. Trained advisors offer curricular planning, major selection, and general assistance to ensure student success.

- Match students' strengths and interests to an appropriate major.
Careers:
This is not a degree-granting program. Career possibilities are different for each individual and will depend on their degree choice.
- Some fields of work, such as nursing or engineering, require a specific major.
- For many people, the most important factor is the education they attain while completing a degree.
- Employers value critical thinking, effective communication, social responsibility, and problem-solving skills, which students will learn from earning their degrees.

- The program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED and the desire to succeed in college.
- Students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study.
- As a first-year student, you will need to take an English and mathematics placement test if you have not obtained the minimum ACT/SAT score required for exemption. These tests do not affect your admission; however, the results are essential for your proper placement in classes. You must complete placement tests before you register for English or mathematics courses. All placement tests are given free of charge.
Entry Requirements:
This program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED and the desire to succeed in college. Although admission is open, students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study.
