Program Overview

The Higher Diploma in Children's Nursing is a one-year, post-registration program offered by UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems and Children's Health Ireland. It provides advanced nursing knowledge and skills for registered nurses to care for infants, children, and young people in various pediatric healthcare settings. Graduates can register as children's nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and are eligible to work as pediatric nurses in Ireland. The program includes theoretical instruction, clinical placements, and a range of assessment methods.
