Objectives:

The program aims to equip graduates with:

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of the mathematics, sciences, data science, analytics, and other technologies underpinning electrical power engineering, with a focus on sustainable power systems, smart grid applications, and power electronics technology.
• The ability to identify, formulate, and analyze complex electrical power engineering problems, placed in the wide context of smart grid applications, power electronic systems, and electricity market economics.
• The ability to investigate, experiment, and apply standard and specialized research methods, using industry standard software tools, specialist research tools, and laboratory facilities.
• Understanding of, and commitment to, professional and ethical responsibilities towards people and the environment in the practice of electrical power engineering.
• The ability to work effectively independently and in diverse and inclusive teams, and to prepare for lifelong learning.

Teaching:

• The program is taught by a strong cohort of experienced and internationally recognized academic staff, including five IEEE Fellows.
