Program Overview
This Graduate Diploma in Computed Tomography (CT) from UCD School of Medicine is a 9-month, full-time program designed for diagnostic radiographers who want to develop the specialist CT skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care. Entry Requirements:
For Standard Entry Applicants (EU Home Students):
- Diagnostic Radiographer: Applicants must be a qualified diagnostic radiographer with at least one year of post-qualification experience.
- Department of Health Approval: Must have Department of Health approval to practice radiography in Ireland.
- Health Professions Council Approval: Must have Health Professions Council approval to practice radiography in the UK and Northern Ireland.
- Clinical Experience: Must have at least three months of clinical experience in CT scanning prior to commencing the course.
- Clinical Placement: Must arrange their own clinical placement and provide evidence of an agreement to spend a minimum of 620 hours gaining practical experience in CT over the duration of the program.
- Clinical Supervisor: Must arrange for a suitably qualified clinical supervisor to oversee their clinical experience.
- Clinical Hours Declaration Form: Must submit a signed Clinical Hours Declaration Form by their Radiographic Services Manager, indicating an agreement to provide the requisite number of clinical hours during the course and confirming the requisite pre-clinical hours.
For International Applicants (Overseas Students Outside the EU):
- BSc (Honours) or Equivalent: Must hold a BSc (Honours) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
- IELTS Score: Must attain a minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS (a minimum of 6 in each band). All test results must be less than 2 years old.
- Clinical Work Experience: Must have at least 9 months of clinical work experience in CT prior to commencing the course.
- Pre-Clinical Hour Declaration Form: Must provide documented evidence of their clinical work experience on the pre-clinical hour declaration form.
- Academic and Clinical References: Must provide academic and clinical references to support their commitment and ability to undertake the course.
- Clinical Placement: The University will organize completion of the Clinical Hours Declaration Form for international applicants.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- IELTS: International applicants must attain a minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS (a minimum of 6 in each band). All test results must be less than 2 years old.
