Program Overview
The Mental Health - Child, Adolescent and Family program is designed to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in child, adolescent, and family mental health. This course is suitable for professionals from various disciplines, including nursing, medicine, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, social work, psychology, and psychotherapy.
Course Structure
The program consists of two years, with the first year starting with a full week of study in September and continuing one day per week for the remainder of the academic year. The second year involves workshops throughout the academic year, utilizing a blended learning approach that includes lectures, group discussions, and self-directed learning.

- Theoretical Perspectives in Child, Adolescent, and Family Mental Health Practice
- Enhancing Practice in Child, Adolescent, and Family Mental Health Service
- Working with People Affected by Eating Disorders
- Deconstructing Theoretical Perspectives on Human Distress
- Theory and Practice of Enquiry Methods for Health Care: Clinical Practicum
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, candidates should hold an upper second-class (2.1) Honours undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Applicants must also be working in the mental health field, with a minimum of one year's recent experience in child, adolescent, and family mental health services, and have Garda clearance for working with children and adolescents.
English Language Requirements
All applicants are required to provide official evidence of proficiency in the English language, meeting the Band B (Standard Entry) English language requirements.
