Overview
This Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management allows students to attain a practical, well-established, highly regarded qualification to enable them to manage projects in their industry, with a particular focus on the construction sector but applicable to other areas. The course provides the opportunity to be taught by industry experts and to establish good networks and connections within the industry.

Admission Requirements
- An honours degree in Engineering or related subject, or a suitable professional qualification plus at least one year’s relevant work experience.
- A candidate may be interviewed to establish their suitability for the course.
- English Language Requirements: All applicants to Trinity are required to provide official evidence of proficiency in the English language. Applicants to this course are required to meet Band B (Standard Entry) English language requirements.
Course Structure
The course runs over an 8-month period (September - April) on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings and is comprised of two taught modules and one coursework module, each of 15 ECTS and totaling 45 ECTS. Lectures are held in the Museum Building at Trinity unless noted otherwise. Some computer component sessions may take a blended learning approach being held online. The diploma is level 9 on the NFQ.
Course Content
Students take two taught modules and one coursework module across the eight-month duration of the course. All three modules are spread over Semesters 1 and 2.

- Principles and Practice of Project Management
- Contracts, Tendering Procedures, BCAR and Insurances
- Legal Principles and Employment Legislation
- The Project Management Systems module covers:
- Project and Commercial Finance and Cost Control
- The Computer and IT in Project Management
- Leadership, Human Resources, Change Management, and Health and Safety
- The Project Management Coursework module covers:
- Research Report: Computer Component (possibly blended learning)
Career Opportunities
Graduates have increased their employability and gained employment as project managers in various engineering and construction fields. This course also allows graduates to apply the ideas they have been introduced to in their own work.
