Overview of the Ancient Greek Language and Culture - Intermediate Course
The Ancient Greek Language and Culture - Intermediate course is designed to build on the basics of Greek grammar acquired at the Beginners level. This course combines learning and reading ancient Greek with an exploration of the time period's literature and culture.
Course Details
- The course is lecture-only and comprises one 1 ½ hour class per week over two terms, commencing the week beginning 15 September 2025.
- Lectures take place on the Trinity Campus.
- All texts used will be specified by the tutor at the beginning of the course.
Fees and Enrollment
- The full rate for the course is €275, with a concession rate of €150 available to those retired, over 65s, and those on a government pension/payment plan and the unwaged, including second and third level students.

Course Description
In this intermediate course, students will consolidate the foundations of Greek grammar to begin reading unadapted works in Attic and Koine Greek. The course aims to provide a deeper understanding of ancient Greek literature and culture, building on the knowledge acquired at the Beginners level.
