Chemical Sciences (Moderatorship) B.A. Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8)
Program Overview
Overview of Chemical Sciences
Chemical Sciences is a creative and central science that deals with challenges spanning the physical and life sciences. It is found and used everywhere, from the creation of new materials and processes to advancements in medical health and diagnosis of disease. A chemistry-based qualification provides students with the relevant skills and knowledge to open doors in research, medicine, education, industry, finance, consultancy, and more.
Structure of the TR061 Chemical Sciences Programme
The Chemical Sciences stream allows students to study the core concepts fundamental to all of chemistry, including topics in physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. Students receive a strong grounding in mathematics and can expand their scientific knowledge by choosing from a cohort of approved and elective modules on topics such as physics, biology, and history and philosophy of science. In the third year, students specialize in one of the five subjects offered in this stream: Chemistry, Chemistry with Biosciences, Chemistry with Molecular Modelling, Medicinal Chemistry, and Nanoscience.
