Program Overview

The Sociolinguistics PhD program at the University of Liverpool explores the relationship between society and language, with a focus on linguistic landscapes, new speakers, language policy, and minority languages. The program offers national and transnational perspectives on sociolinguistic issues, with researchers examining the Francophone, Hispanophone, Lusophone, and Italophone world, as well as North Africa and the Middle East.
