The Department of Sociology at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University's College of Arts provides students with a varied and innovative foundation in sociology. Admission Requirements

First: Admission to the College of Arts General Requirements

  • The applicant must pass all the first-year (College of Arts Track) courses

Second: Controls of Specialization in the College of Arts

Year Description

First Year

During the first year, students study a broad range of subjects that introduce them to various disciplines in the arts and humanities realm. This exposure helps them make an informed decision on what academic path they wish to pursue in the following years. They will earn 36 credit hours during this first year.


Second Year

In the second year, students begin to study specialized courses in the field of sociology and social work, such as population sociology, community and individual service, social care policies, as well as public relations.


Third Year

The third-year curriculum consists of courses such as focusing on Saudi Arabian society, urban sociology, and political sociology.


Fourth Year

In addition to the graduation project that each student must prepare, the coursework for this year includes topics such as social guidance and counseling, social change, and social theories.
