Program Overview

Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language and Literature

The Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language and Literature program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Arabic language and its rich literary tradition. The program will cover a broad range of topics, including Arabic grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, as well as the history of Arabic literature, poetry, and prose.

Program Objectives

• Developing the student's knowledge in language sciences, literary arts and criticism, old and new, and enhancing belonging to the Arabic language and the sincere desire for its wisdom.
• Training the student on critical thinking skills, writing research, and using the resources effectively.
• Developing effective communication skills by focusing on advanced literacy skills, listening and speaking skills.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

• Communicate effectively in standard Arabic, both orally and in writing.
• Identify the linguistic and rhetorical system in terms of its structures and provisions phonetically, morphologically, grammatically and semantically.
• Analyze literary, linguistic and critical texts, demonstrating their features and genres.
• Critique literary, critical and linguistic works within their cultural and historical contexts.
• Apply critical thinking skills in the study of Arabic language & literature.
