PhD Program Admission Requirements
To be admitted into the program, applicants must:
- Have a master's degree or its equivalent with a grade of "very good" or above.
- The master's degree must be issued by a recognized university.
- The master's degree must be in a subject that qualifies the applicant for specialized study in the field.
- Pass a written exam and a personal interview before the Scientific Committee.
- The Admission Committee may require pre-remedial courses for admission or exempt the applicant from such courses.
Requirements for Admission at the End of the First Semester
Students must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum average of 3 in the semester average.
- A minimum score of 1400 points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) in Arabic language, and a minimum score of 1250 in English or its equivalent in other standardized tests.
- A minimum score of 700 points in the Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) in mathematics.
Fulfilling Graduation Requirements
The PhD program is completed when all courses, including the thesis, are completed. Students must:
- Obtain a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.00.
- Spend the required time to obtain the degree without exceeding the maximum allowed.
Course Completion
- A course is completed with a mark not less than 2.00.
- The PhD Certificate is awarded with one of the following grades:
- Excellent: 3.70 to 4.00
- Very Good: 3.00 to less than 3.70
Study System
- The study system is based on credit hours.
- Teaching is conducted during academic weekdays (Monday to Friday).
- The program follows a blended study system in accordance with the academic accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
Minimum and Maximum Academic Load
- The minimum academic load per semester is 9 credit hours.
- The maximum academic load per semester is 12 credit hours.
