Program Overview
Field trips and practical exercises enhance the learning experience, and the course is tailored to meet the needs of geologists, geophysicists, and other professionals in the exploration and production industry.
Program Outline
Outline:
- Review of turbidite settings, processes, models: This module covers the fundamental concepts of turbidite depositional systems, including their formation processes, characteristics, and common models.
- Alternative reservoir geometrics: This module explores the various geometries and shapes that turbidite reservoirs can take, expanding beyond traditional models.
- Seismic character of deepwater systems: This module focuses on the interpretation of seismic data in deepwater environments, emphasizing the identification of turbidite features and their potential as reservoirs.
- Borehole/wireline characteristics: This module examines the characteristics of borehole and wireline data, including logs, cores, and cuttings, and their application in interpreting turbidite reservoirs.
- Significance and use of various tools: This module discusses the importance and application of various geological tools and techniques in the study of turbidite reservoirs.
- Correlation of reservoir units: This module covers the methods and principles of correlating different reservoir units within a turbidite system.
