Degree Overview:
The Laurea in Mechanical Engineering (equivalent to a Bachelor of Science) is a three-year program designed to train engineers with the skills and knowledge to perform various roles in the labor market and adapt to evolving professional needs. The program provides a strong foundation in basic and mandatory disciplines during the first year, followed by a focus on fundamental mechanical engineering subjects in the second year. The first two years of the program are identical for both the Milano Bovisa and Piacenza campuses.
Careers:
Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering program can work in various roles, including:
- Producing working drawings of products and processes
- Dealing with product development, installation, and testing of machinery and complex systems
- Maintaining and managing production units
- Carrying out controls and inspections
- Providing technical assistance Upon passing the State Professional Examination, graduates with a Laurea in Mechanical Engineering can apply to be included in the Register of Engineers (section B).
Other:
- Students can choose different previously approved study plans (PSPA) in the third year.
- Students interested in pursuing a Master of Science (Laurea Magistrale) program should follow the "Preparatory" track.
- Students can choose from several "Professional" tracks, including:
- "Engines and Turbomachinery", "Industrial Plant", "Technological Processes", "Design", "Vehicles" in Milano Bovisa
- "Production Plant and Machinery" in Piacenza
- All "Professional" tracks include an internship in a company.
- Graduates can continue their education by applying to the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) program in Mechanical Engineering or other Master of Science programs or 1st level Specializing Masters.
