Program Overview


English Programmes

The English Programmes at Future University in Egypt (FUE) offer a range of courses designed to improve students' English language skills. The programmes are tailored to meet the needs of students at different levels, from beginner to advanced.


Academic English Language Programme (AELP)

The Academic English Language Programme (AELP) is a comprehensive programme that aims to equip students with the language skills necessary for academic success. The programme consists of two courses: ENG101 and ENG102.


General English Language Programme (GELP)

The General English Language Programme (GELP) is a programme that focuses on developing students' general English language skills. The programme consists of several levels, including A1, A2, B1, B1+, and B2.


A1 Course

The A1 Course is an introductory course that aims to develop students' basic English language skills. The course covers the following topics:


  • Course Code: A1
  • Course duration: 48 hours (face-to-face)
  • Prerequisites: Placement Test
  • Text Book: Cutting Edge (3rd edition), Elementary Student's Book with digital resources, published by Pearson

Text Book Description

The text book used for the A1 Course is Cambridge English Empower, a general adult course that combines course content from Cambridge University Press with validated assessment from the experts at Cambridge English Language Assessment.


Course Description

The A1 Course is designed according to the CEFR language descriptors, and students at this level can:


  • Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type
  • Introduce themselves and others
  • Ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know, and things they have
  • Interact in a simple way, provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help
  • Follow speech that is very slow and carefully articulated, with long pauses for them to assimilate meaning
  • Understand very short, simple texts a single phrase at a time, picking up familiar names, words, and basic phrases and rereading as required
  • Interact in a simple way, but communication is totally dependent on repetition at a slower rate of speech, rephrasing, and repair
  • Ask and answer simple questions, and initiate and respond to simple statements in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics
  • Produce simple mainly isolated phrases about people and places

Class Policies

The class policies for the A1 Course include:


  • Attend all classes, be on time, and be ready to begin work
  • Show respect to the instructor and other students
  • Do not cause any disruption in class
  • Turn off your cell phone
  • Speak only English in the classroom
  • Bring your own textbooks, failure to do so may result in exclusion from the classroom

Attendance Policy

A student may withdraw from the programme if they are absent for up to 25 percent of the course, provided they do so within the time permitted for withdrawal, which is during the first twelve weeks of the academic semester. If the absence exceeds 25 percent, a student will not be allowed to withdraw from the course and will not be permitted to attend lectures or sit the final examination and will receive a failing grade of 'F' on the course.


Assessment

Students must receive a minimum of 50% pass overall to go to the next level. The assessment is based on the following criteria:


  • Classroom-based and Home-based assessment
  • Progress Test
  • Speaking Test
  • Final Exam

The Department of Continuing Education (DCE) at FUE is dedicated to bridging the gap between the capabilities of students and the requirements of the industry. The department offers various programmes and courses to enhance students' skills and knowledge.


FUE Pharmaceutical Factory

The Future Factory for Industrial Training (FFIT) aims to provide students with hands-on experience in a real-world industrial setting. The factory is equipped with advanced technology and equipment, allowing students to gain practical skills in pharmaceutical manufacturing.


FUE Dental Hospital

The FUE Dental Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that provides students with hands-on experience in dental care and treatment. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology and equipment, allowing students to gain practical skills in dentistry.


Community Service

The community service unit at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Industries offers various services and programmes to the community, including awareness campaigns and health services.
