The MQF Level 5 Award in Introduction to the Business World introduces learners to the fundamentals of business. The MQF Level 5 Award in Introduction to the Business World introduces learners to the fundamental principles that underpin the business world.


Objectives:

Learners will learn how to:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients within an organisation.
  • Monitor trends and changes in the business world that can affect the organisation.
  • Outline the role of economics, accounting and finance.
  • Discuss the use of other departments for the successful management of a business.
  • List and analyse in-depth organisational culture and organisational structures.
  • Identify the need for marketing in organisations to ensure competitive advantage.

Assessment:

The MQF Level 5 Award in Introduction to the Business World is assessed through the use of an assignment.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field: This means that applicants must have a diploma that is recognized as being equivalent to Level 4 on the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF).
  • This could include diplomas from other countries, as long as they are deemed equivalent to the MQF Level 4.
  • Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates: This means that applicants must have a Matriculation certificate, which is a qualification awarded by the University of Malta.
  • They must have at least two A-levels and three Intermediate level passes.
  • Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better: This means that applicants must have four passes at Grade 5 or better in the Matsec examinations, which are the national examinations in Malta.
  • Relevant work experience: This means that applicants may be considered for admission if they have relevant work experience, even if they do not meet the other entry requirements.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5: This means that applicants who are not native English speakers must provide evidence of their English proficiency.
  • They can do this by providing a certificate from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or by achieving a score of 5.5 or higher in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
