Program Overview


This Award in Change Management provides an introduction to change management principles, enabling learners to understand change implementation challenges. Through a combination of theory and practical techniques, participants will learn to navigate change effectively, overcome resistance, and evaluate the impact on organizational success, earning 10 ECTS/ECVET credits upon completion. This Level 5 Award is delivered face-to-face and through work-based learning, starting in January 2025.

Program Outline


Degree Overview:

The Award in Change Management provides learners with an introduction to fundamental theories and established practices concerning organisational change management. By delving into various techniques, learners gain insight into overcoming challenges encountered during the implementation of change initiatives and be equipped to navigate and effectively manage change within organisational contexts.


Objectives:

By the end of this Award, learners will have been exposed to:

  • Reflect and analyse the importance of planning, managing and implementing change
  • Critically reflect and assess various ways in which change can be implemented within departments or organisations
  • Assess methods and techniques to manage resistance, politics and power during change
  • Use various techniques to overcome barriers which are found when trying to implement changes in organisations
  • Apply theoretical knowledge gained to real-life situations
  • Evaluate effects of implementing change on the overall organisation’s success

Assessment:

This Award shall be assessed through the use of an assignment.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field: This means that applicants must have a diploma that is recognized as being equivalent to Level 4 on the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF).
  • The field of study should be relevant to the Award in Change Management.
  • Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates: Applicants must have a Matriculation certificate, which is a qualification awarded after secondary education in Malta.
  • They must have at least two A-levels (Advanced Level) and three Intermediate Level passes.
  • Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better: Applicants must have Matsec certificates, which are the results of the Maltese Secondary Education Certificate examinations.
  • They must have at least four passes at Grade 5 or better.
  • Relevant work experience: Applicants may be considered if they have relevant work experience, even if they do not meet the other entry requirements.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5: This means that applicants whose native language is not English must provide evidence of their English proficiency.
  • They can do this by providing a certificate from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or a score of 5.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
