Graduates will be equipped to manage companies in the social economy or work in education, quality and personnel management, and organizational development within various social work fields. The program lasts 4 semesters (or 3 semesters with a 210 ECTS Bachelor's degree), starts in the winter semester, and awards a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree with 120 credit points (CP). Classes are held 3 days a week. The FHD offers start-up consulting to support students interested in starting their own businesses. The program emphasizes practical learning with experienced lecturers from the field and a growing cooperation network with renowned companies to facilitate valuable employer contacts. Individual student support is also provided.

The program is aimed at graduates who have already obtained a first university degree recognized in Germany with at least 180 credit points (Bachelor's or Diplom degree). Relevant Bachelor's degree programs include those in social work, social pedagogy, social pedagogy and management, social management, childhood pedagogy, sociology, psychology, as well as related degree programs with similar content, scope, and requirements.
