The NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Caring for Children covers the growth, learning, and development of children. It's a nested qualification, meaning students can choose to study either the award, certificate, or diploma. To earn the Award, students must achieve 10 credits across four units:
- Growth and development of young children: Level 1, 2 credits
- Practical health and safety when with young children: Level 1, 3 credits
- Respecting and valuing children: Level 1, 2 credits
- Understanding learning and development through play: Level 1, 3 credits The course duration is 3 months and can be delivered online or through blended learning. Full support is provided until course completion.

Upon successful completion, learners can progress to the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People.
