ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Law

Overview

The ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Law is a 120-credit Ofqual regulated qualification and is the equivalent level to the first year of a university degree. It has been designed for learners who wish to progress to university and, when taken in combination with the ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Law, allows learners to progress onto an LLB top-up degree programme (the final year of university).

Progression

On successful completion of a Level 4 Diploma in Law, there are a number of progression opportunities.

Learners may progress to: a level 5 in Law or Learners who complete this qualification can progress to study a variety of bachelor’s degrees at a university

Program Outline

Degree Overview:

The ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Law is a 120-credit Ofqual regulated qualification equivalent to the first year of a university degree. When combined with the ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Law, it allows progression to an LLB top-up degree program (the final year of university). The program is offered in two durations: 6 months (fast track) and 12 months. London College of Professional Studies (LCPS) provides flexible delivery methods including blended learning, online learning, distance learning, and in-class instruction. Learners choose their preferred mode of study.

Outline:

The program requires completion of four units to achieve the necessary 120 credits for the Level 4 Extended Diploma in Law. The units are:

• Contract Law: Level 4, 30 credits.
• Criminal Law: Level 4, 30 credits.
• Legal Methods: Level 4, 30 credits.
• Public Law: Level 4, 30 credits.

Assessment:

Assessment is solely through assignment submission.

Careers:

Upon successful completion of the Level 4 Diploma in Law, learners can progress to a Level 5 in Law or various bachelor's degrees at a university.

Other:

The program is accredited by Ofqual Awarding body ATHE. The LCPS provides learners with an LCPS Student ID card.
