Specific objectives include providing a solid scientific, anthropological, ethical, and legal foundation in bioethics; offering high-level theoretical and practical training; and training specialists capable of managing multidisciplinary study groups.
Outline:
The Master in Bioethics program consists of 90 credits and takes 12 to 24 months to complete. The program is structured into four modules:
- Module 1: Fundamental Bioethics (250 hours, 25 credits): This module introduces the general study of bioethics, providing theoretical foundations for discourse management and bioethics methods. It covers: Biology of the Human Body (30 hours), Anthropological Foundations of Bioethics (30 hours), Ethical Bases of Bioethics (30 hours), Workshop 1 (10 hours), General Bioethics (50 hours), Biolaw (40 hours), Research Methods (50 hours), and Workshop 2 (10 hours).
- Module 2: Bioethics and Scientific Experimentation (200 hours, 20 credits): This module focuses on bioethics applied to scientific experimentation and environmental care, using an interdisciplinary analysis model. It includes: Environmental Evolution and Sustainable Development (20 hours), General Biotechnology (50 hours), Workshop 3 (10 hours), Bioethics and Scientific Experimentation (60 hours), Applied Biolaw (50 hours), and Workshop 4 (10 hours).
- Module 3: Bioethics and Life and Human Health Care (250 hours, 25 credits): This module covers bioethics applied to life and health, again using an interdisciplinary approach. Topics include: Bioethics, Health and Medical Practice (50 hours), Bioethics of Human Sexuality and Reproduction (40 hours), Workshop 5 (10 hours), Legal Aspects and Senior Citizen Bioethics (70 hours), End of Life Bioethics (50 hours), Resolution/Transformation of Conflicts in the Healthcare Field (20 hours), and Workshop 6 (10 hours).
- Module 4: Research (200 hours, 20 credits): This module involves the development of a research project within the bioethics field, culminating in a Final Master Project (FMP) and a Proposal detailing the research. Note: Credit equivalence may vary depending on the enrolling university.
