The Specialization in Project Management program introduces participants to all aspects of project management: initiation, planning, control, and closure stages, encompassing all knowledge areas and required competencies as recognized by international standards. It uniquely integrates global and specific knowledge across its nine subjects to ensure proper management development, aligning with IPMA/AGPA standards for professional knowledge and competencies. The program is designed for students with or without prior experience in project management who are highly disciplined, responsible, and interested in expanding their knowledge to apply in teaching, research, or professional fields. Successful completion leads to a Specialization in Project Management diploma issued by the enrolling university, and potentially a professional certification as a Certified Project Management Associate (Level D) through a cooperation agreement with the Argentina Project Management Association (AGPA) and the Argentina IPMA Certifying Body (OCIA), exclusively for students residing in America. The general objective is to train specialists capable of comprehensively managing projects, possessing a holistic understanding of development and the precise knowledge to manage and administer all human and technical resources. Outline:
The program consists of 37 credits distributed across two parts:
- Part 1: Courses (25 credits): This part comprises nine subjects designed to provide understanding, knowledge, and practice of project design processes and work methodologies for efficient assessment and knowledge generation. The subjects and their credit allocation are: 1. Introduction to Project Managing (1 credit): Covers general concepts, project types, phases, and the project life cycle. Project Planning and Management (4 credits): Focuses on project integration, scope, plan development, control of changes, definition, administration, and planning of scope, along with choosing and applying techniques for action planning and specific programming techniques. Computer Tools for Project Management (3 credits): Introduces technological tools and management software for project management. Project Monitoring and Control (3 credits): Covers project control fundamentals, tools, methodologies, and resource control to ensure compliance with timelines, quality, and cost. Project Evaluation (3 credits): Centers on financial engineering, using technical-economic tools for project assessment. Trust Management: Risk and Quality (3 credits): Focuses on quality basics, planning, ensuring, and controlling quality and risk. Human Resources Strategic Management (3 credits): Provides an overview of the human resources director's role, managerial activity areas, and integration of business strategies. Occupational Risk Prevention: OHSAS 18001 (3 credits): Covers business requirements in prevention, techniques for controlling occupational risks, and the OHSAS 18001 standard.
