The Human Resource Management program integrates fundamental concepts related to 21st-century people management and leadership within organizations. It emphasizes the crucial role of people in value creation, sustained competitiveness, and adapting to change. It stresses the importance of ethical and coherent commitment in delivering professional services. Through a blend of theoretical foundations and practical case studies, the program educates students in the design and application of human resource management policies and practices. The program targets professionals, with or without experience, seeking to expand and consolidate their knowledge for application at any organizational level and across public and private sectors. Successful completion leads to a Specialization in Human Resources Management, issued by the enrolling university. The general objective is to train professionals with strategic and executive thinking in human resources management within the integrated and systemic management of organizations, utilizing new information and communication technologies.


Outline:

The Human Resource Management program consists of 36 credits, divided into two parts. Part 1 comprises 26 credits across nine subjects:


Strategic Management of Human Resources (3 credits):

Covers the overall vision of the HR manager's role, strategic HR management models, and technology for diagnosis, projection, and control of HRM, including strategic HR planning and workforce optimization.


Job Analysis, Description, and Evaluation (3 credits):

Analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of job descriptions, methodologies for analyzing and evaluating job posts, and the management of this process. It also covers the historical review of employment, the person-work interrelationship, and methods, techniques, and tools for analysis, description, and evaluation of job posts and occupations.


Recruitment, Selection, and Promotion (3 credits):

Analyzes selection processes, effective methods and tools, and design and programming of process phases, including ratios and indicators used in modern companies. It covers fundamentals of the recruitment and selection process, principles of personnel selection, and main methods and techniques used.


Performance Evaluation and Competency-based Management (2.5 credits):

Offers methods and techniques in training and performance evaluation, including competency-based performance management, development of work competencies, and competency-based performance evaluation.


Compensation and Incentives (3 credits):

Uses compensation as a management tool integrated into company HR policies and strategies. It covers employee compensation systems, work-related motivational theories, and payment systems.


Training and Career Planning (3 credits):

Focuses on preparing a training policy to develop human potential, achieve strategic objectives, and meet quality certification requirements. It covers training and development of the human component and individual careers.


Occupational Risk Prevention: OHSAS 18001 (3 credits):

Provides knowledge to identify business requirements in prevention and apply techniques for controlling occupational risks.


Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (4 credits):

Provides theoretical and practical knowledge related to ethics in business and people management. It covers fundamentals of business ethics, the need for business ethics, and the human factor at the heart of business ethics. Part 2 (10 credits) involves a Final Specialization Project, a case study on a topic studied during the program and applied to the student's real-world setting. The program duration is 9-12 months, depending on student dedication.


Teaching:

The program is delivered through distance learning, with no on-site classes. A printed version of the content is provided for students to complete evaluation tests. The teaching staff includes several Doctors and Masters level instructors with expertise in various relevant fields (Economics, Psychology, Engineering, Business Administration). The faculty list is extensive and includes individuals with experience in academia, consulting, and industry.


Careers:

The program prepares students for careers in the Human Resources Department of any organization or company.


Other:

The program's credit structure may vary slightly depending on the awarding university. One ECTS credit is equivalent to 25 hours (10 guided and supervised, 15 autonomous).
