The Master in Export Management and International Trade is a program designed by Marconi University and the Institute of Export & International Trade, in consultation with international trade experts. The program addresses the current needs of the globalized market, equipping managers with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in international trade. These skills include market research, project planning and execution, understanding financial aspects of international trade (pricing, currency exchange, payment terms, risk assessment), knowledge of international trade regulations, relationship building, cultural adaptability, and familiarity with relevant software and technologies (including AI). The program is designed for entrepreneurs seeking to expand internationally, managers aiming for leadership roles in international trade, graduates seeking international careers, and individuals wanting a deeper understanding of the global business world. The program is versatile and aims to open new career opportunities and empower professionals to make a positive impact.


Outline:

The Master's program is structured into six modules: It covers the legal aspects of international trade (contract law, sale of goods, agency law) and introduces basic marketing concepts and international marketing principles, emphasizing the role of culture in sales.

  • Module 2 – Environmental Global Marketplace Analysis: This module focuses on strategic analysis, market analysis, competitive strategy, global accounting, data-driven decision-making, and industrial organization.
  • It combines theoretical knowledge with operational approaches and tools for strategic analysis.
  • Module 3 – International Logistics, Purchasing, Distribution, Transportation & Documentation: This module covers the role of logistics in international trade, focusing on cost-effective import/export methods, customs regulations, and logistics/supply chain management.
  • Students will learn to maximize distribution strategies and global sourcing policies and understand UK import/export regulations. Topics include market research and analysis, import/export regulations, logistics and supply chain management, cultural and communication skills, economic and political analysis, and sustainability/ethical considerations.
  • Module 5 – Legal, Finance & Risk Management: This module covers profitability, financing options, and risk management in international trade (exchange risk, country and buyer credit risk, payment methods).
  • It also explores the evolution of UK common law and equity, including influences from the EU and international conventions. Topics include online marketplaces, B2B platforms, social media, digital trade shows, e-commerce, digital marketing, virtual trade missions, blockchain, and smart contracts. In addition to the modules, students complete a project work assigned by the Scientific Committee. Students work independently but can seek guidance from faculty. Up to 5 hours of one-on-one meetings are available for project work support. The project work is typically 40-60 pages and assessed by a commission of three professors or Scientific Committee members, including the project supervisor. The final transcript includes scores according to both UK and Italian grading systems.

Assessment:

The final evaluation consists of a presentation of the project work to the Master's Scientific Committee. Online self-assessment tests are available after each module to gauge learning progress.


Teaching:

The program uses online synchronous and asynchronous learning methods. Professors interact with students in virtual classrooms on scheduled dates and times. Students can also contact professors via email for questions. Four company presentations are organized, featuring CEOs, export managers, and entrepreneurs. All course materials (PPTs, Word documents, and tools) are available in a reserved online area accessible to students.


Careers:

The program aims to prepare students for careers in export management and international trade. It is designed to benefit entrepreneurs, managers, and graduates seeking international career opportunities. The program's versatility is highlighted as opening new career opportunities and empowering professionals to make a positive impact in their fields.


Other:

The program starts on May 19, 2025, but requires a minimum of 12 participants. Two scholarships covering 50% of tuition are available. A 20% early bird discount is offered for pre-enrollment before March 31, 2025. A 12-month student membership with the IOE&IT is included in the tuition fee. The Scientific Committee is listed, including names of its members. The program includes a pre-enrollment fee and has a refund policy for the pre-enrollment fee only if the course is canceled.


Price 500 € / 7.400 GBP Discounts are available for multiple attendances by the same organization. UniMarconi and Institute of Export & International Trade provide two scholarships covering 50% of the tuition fee for the first two students enrolled.
