The MSc in Cybersecurity Programme is offered by the School of Science & Technology of the University Center of International Programmes of Studies of the International Hellenic University. It addresses the security risks faced by modern organizations, providing training in cybercrime analysis and advanced knowledge for protecting against cybersecurity risks. The program delivers cutting-edge cybercrime investigation techniques, strategies, and tactics to help students understand and address emerging cybercrime trends. It enhances knowledge and develops practical skills in cybercrime, offering in-depth study and developing critical, analytical, and technical skills in cybercrime investigation principles, practices, and techniques. The program includes lectures and laboratory exercises using the latest technologies, led by academics from Greece and abroad, along with projects and dissertation work. The goal is to equip graduates with state-of-the-art scientific knowledge and practical skills for international competitiveness. Main subject areas include Digital Forensics, Intrusion detection and Network Security, and Security Audit & Compliance. The program is designed for university graduates in Informatics/Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Natural Sciences, Economics, and Business Departments with an ICT background and strong motivation for a cybersecurity career. Courses are taught exclusively in English. The academic staff comes from universities in Greece and abroad. Distance learning combined with traditional face-to-face teaching is possible. The program is certified by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
Outline:
The MSc in Cybersecurity Programme consists of two semesters of courses and one semester for the postgraduate thesis for full-time students, and four semesters of courses and one semester for the postgraduate thesis for part-time students. Upon arrival, students may attend foundation courses in Java and SQL to ensure a common level of programming knowledge. Students can begin their dissertation only after completing the first and second semesters. All courses are in English. Ninety (90) ECTS credits are required for the master's degree. The courses include:
- Semester 2: Data Protection and Cryptography (Compulsory), Intrusion Detection and Event Management (Compulsory), Penetration Testing (Compulsory), Advanced Digital Forensics and Malware Analysis (Elective), Consulting Project (Elective), Internet of Things (Elective), Knowledge Management in the Web (Elective), Software Development Methodologies (Elective) The Dissertation: During the third (full-time) or fifth (part-time) term, students work on a Master's Dissertation relevant to their studies and interests. This allows application of learned theory to real-world cybersecurity problems.
Teaching:
The program uses a combination of lectures and laboratory exercises. Teaching staff includes leading academics from Greece and abroad. The program is available in a blended learning format, combining distance learning with traditional face-to-face teaching. Lectures mainly take place on weekday evenings (after 17:00), and possibly on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings.

The program is offered on a full-time (18 months) or part-time (30 months) basis, and is also available in a distance learning mode. The campus is located in Thermi, Thessaloniki. The program starts in October, with an application deadline of September 15th. English language proficiency (at least B2 level) is required, unless the applicant holds an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a foreign university where English is the language of instruction. The School of Science & Technology offers scholarships covering a significant portion of the fees. A 500 Euro deposit is required to secure a place. The program is taught exclusively in English. The program is certified by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE). A student complaints procedure and appeal process are in place.
The programme fees for the MSc in Cybersecurity is 2900€. The amount is payable in two instalments for the full time mode or in four instalments for the part time mode at the beginning of each semester. The fees are also eligible for financing through LAEK 0,45% – OAED programme.

Entry Requirements:
To be considered for the MSc in Cybersecurity program, candidates must have:
- An undergraduate degree from a Higher Education Institution in Greece or a recognized institution abroad. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) degrees are preferred, but other degrees are considered if the applicant has a solid background in ICT. Students who are a small number of courses short of their degree may be accepted, provided they submit a certificate of completion of studies by the registration deadline.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate English language knowledge with a certificate equivalent to at least the State Certificate of Language Learning Level B2, or another certificate proving sufficient English proficiency. However, those holding an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a foreign university where the language of instruction was English are exempt from this requirement.
