This updated program, with a revised curriculum, aims to provide recent graduates with a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience in financial and risk management within business or financial institutions. It also expands knowledge of the Fintech industry and emerging financial instruments. Given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program emphasizes risk management tools and methods, skills highly valued in the business world. The program utilizes diverse teaching methods, technologies, and learning environments to facilitate learning. The objective is to equip students with essential skills and real-world knowledge for career success.

The program is structured as follows:

  • Duration/Mode: 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time (weekday evenings, also available in distance learning).
  • Core Courses (First Term): Econometrics & Data Analytics; Foundations of Finance and Financial Technology; Financial Reporting and Analysis; Banking and Fintech.
  • Core Courses (Second Term): Corporate Finance; Financial Technology and Innovation; Investments and Portfolio Management; Risk Management in Banking.
  • Elective Courses: Students choose four electives from a list that includes: Programming for Fintech; Blockchain Technologies, Financial Applications and Cyber Security; Blockchain and Cryptofinance; Mergers and Acquisitions; Advanced Company Valuation; Entrepreneurship; Sustainable Investments and Corporate Social Responsibility; Financial Derivatives and Structured Products; Behavioural Finance; Banking Legal Environment; Fintech Regulation and Data Protection.

Teaching:

The program utilizes a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and learning environments. Attendance at lectures is compulsory (with a limit on allowed absences, details in the Programme Handbook). The program starts in October. Teaching for the part-time program takes place weekday afternoons (typically 18:00-21:00). The program faculty includes professors and lecturers from various universities in Greece and Cyprus, as well as a Credit Risk Officer from the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank.

Upon graduation, students can pursue careers in risk management, consulting, investment, finance, and banking in both the private and public sectors. The program aims to enhance employability for those seeking international careers in investments, banking, consulting, finance departments, and risk management departments.


Other:

The International Hellenic University (IHU) regularly organizes events, workshops, and business seminars, some exclusively for IHU students and alumni. The programme fees for the MSc in Banking, Financial Technology (Fintech) and Risk Management is 3,900€. The amount is payable in two instalments for the full time mode or in four instalments for the part time mode at the beginning of each semester.

  • For non-EU students, an advance payment of 2.000 Euros out of 3.900 Euros towards the tuition fees must be paid.
