The Cyber Resilience for Business Leaders program, offered by Vlerick Business School, prepares leaders to mitigate cyber risks through discussions, case studies, and assessments. The program aims to equip participants with the tools to mitigate cyber risk within their organizations. It emphasizes the growing reliance of businesses on technology and the corresponding increase in vulnerability to cyber threats. The program highlights the far-reaching consequences of a single cyber incident, underscoring the critical need for building resilience. The program explores changes in the regulatory environment and the ethical challenges posed by AI. Participants will develop their knowledge through discussions, case studies, a business simulation, and a maturity assessment.


Outline:

The program consists of four half-day live online modules:

  • Module 1: Cyber threats and regulation: This module covers essential cybersecurity and resilience principles, the evolution of cyber threats and their business impact, the implications of new regulations like the EU’s AI Act and NIS2, and integrating cyber regulation into enterprise risk management.
  • The instructor is Patrick Coomans. Following this module, participants engage in an online cyber-attack simulation to handle typical attack scenarios and management responses.
  • Module 2: Human behaviour and cyber strategies: This module explores the human-technology relationship and its effect on teams, addresses human behavioral challenges in cyber planning, examines how AI can enhance cyberattacks and strengthen mitigation strategies, and focuses on developing cyber strategies and investment decisions.
  • The instructor is Anna Collard. After this module, participants complete an online Digital Resilience maturity assessment to identify weaknesses in their organization's digital resilience. The instructor is Punit Bhatia. The program schedule is: June 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2025 (AM).

Teaching:

The program uses a combination of discussions, case studies, a business simulation, and a maturity assessment. The faculty includes:
