The Leadership Transition Programme is a seven-day program designed to equip participants with the leadership development training needed to successfully transition into management roles. The program is structured around three tracks:

  • Track I: Managing yourself – self-leadership: This track comprises two modules:
  • Track II: Managing others – the people manager: This track also consists of four modules:
  • Module 1: The people manager as a recruiter:
  • This module delves into the psychological contract between employees and the organization, attracting the right people to a team, and working with different generations.
  • Module 2: The people manager as a careers manager: This module focuses on gaining insight into people's career ambitions, guiding them through career planning, and assessing one's role as a mentor.
  • Module 3: The people manager as a communicator and coach: This module explores emotions and their management, effective communication, and coaching skills enhancement.
  • Module 4: The people manager as a motivator and performance manager: This module examines the link between motivation and performance, customizing performance management, and maximizing impact.
  • Track III: Individual coaching and action plan: This track provides two two-hour sessions with an experienced Vlerick coach.
  • The coaching helps participants maximize their learning and identify opportunities to apply their skills within their organizations. Goal setting is a key component of this track. The program offers several upcoming editions in both Dutch and English, in Ghent and Brussels.

Teaching:

The program utilizes expert coaching to help participants identify and tackle their challenges. Role-playing is used as a teaching method in at least one module. The faculty includes professors and lecturers specializing in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership.
