The EDHEC Master in Management (MiM) – Data Science & AI for Business, also known as the Grande École program, is a two-year academic course taught entirely in English. Its objective is to equip students with the managerial and quantitative skills necessary for careers utilizing data science and artificial intelligence. The program aims to prepare students to address the challenges presented by the advent of artificial intelligence in the business world. It leverages the expertise of professors specializing in technology and AI, along with academic and corporate partners such as Orange, CAIA, GARP, Microsoft, and Ubisoft. Outline:

The program is structured across three years:

  • Year 1 (Sep - May): Master’s year 1 - Foundation year: This year focuses on the fundamentals of data science and artificial intelligence, along with fundamentals of finance and business management.
  • Students interact with tech and data professionals and professors. Specific core modules include:
  • Fundamentals of Stats and Data Science with Python:
  • Covers modern data analysis and forecasting techniques, combining statistical concepts with advanced data manipulation using Python. Students learn descriptive statistics, data manipulation in Python, and data visualization.
  • Introduction to Database Management Systems: Explores principles and practices of DBMS, focusing on data collection, retrieval, and security.
  • Students learn database design, SQL queries, and relational database schemas.
  • Mathematics of Deep Learning: Introduces the mathematical foundations of machine learning (linear algebra, calculus, numerical optimization, and probability theory).
  • Students learn mean-variance portfolio optimization and use Excel for practical exercises.
  • Financial Analysis and Valuation: Covers financial accounting concepts, financial reporting, firm financial statements, and firm valuation.
  • Students learn DCF and comparable company analyses.
  • Managerial Skills: Develops key managerial skills through action learning, focusing on teams, communication, and leadership.
  • Data Visualization: Covers essential data visualization skills, using various tools.
  • Fixed Income and Derivatives OR Marketing Management: One of these courses is chosen.

  • The EURECOM double degree requires a strong mathematics background, excellent programming skills (Python and/or Matlab), and involves Year 1 at EDHEC, Year 2 as professional experience, and Year 3 at EURECOM.

Teaching:

The teaching methodology includes a core curriculum embracing the latest technology and market trends, co-developed with business partners. Blended learning is employed, incorporating tutorials, lectures, workshops, seminars, business games, case studies, and entrepreneurship projects. Personal performance coaching is also provided, covering interviewing strategies, teamwork development, and intercultural communication skills. Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

EDHEC seeks talented candidates from diverse backgrounds, with a history of strong academic achievement and demonstrated potential for growth and professional success. Specific requirements include:

  • Minimum three-year bachelor’s degree: This is a fundamental requirement for both EU and non-EU students.
  • English proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate sufficient English language skills.
  • Acceptable tests and minimum scores are:
  • TOEFL Internet-based ≥ 92
  • TOEIC ≥ 850
  • IELTS ≥ 6.5
  • Cambridge Test of English > 175
  • A waiver is available for native English speakers or those holding a degree taught in English (minimum three years).
  • Standardized Test Scores: A strong GMAT or GRE or TAGE MAGE or CAT (CAT for Indian students only) official test score report, or CFA Level II is required.
  • The text notes that GMAT scores from both classic and new Focus editions are accepted equally, assessed using GMAC percentile tables.
  • Application Materials: Applicants must submit a CV, letter of motivation, academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and complete an online video interview.
  • French Degree Holders: Students holding a French degree with a visa Bac+3 from the French Ministry of higher education must apply through the Concours AST2.
