The master's program is structured into four semesters.

  • Semesters 2 & 3: Build upon the skills acquired in the first semester, progressing to more advanced programming and data science techniques.

  • A Bachelor's degree from one of the following programs:
  • Institute for Life Science & Technology (Hanze University of Applied Science)
  • Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
  • Communication, Media & IT (from any University of Applied Science)
  • Electrical Engineering, Sensor Technology major (with skills in English, Statistics, and programming)
  • Biology, Life Sciences, Informatics or equivalent (for international students)
  • English proficiency: One of the following is required:
  • IELTS score: 6.0 minimum
  • TOEFL score: 80 points minimum
  • Cambridge Advanced Exam in English: B minimum or Cambridge Proficiency Exam in English: C minimum
  • Pearson PTE (Academic): minimum of 61 (original results)
  • LanguageCert (Academic): minimum of 65 (original results)
  • Exemptions from the English requirements are possible if:
  • The applicant obtained a diploma at an English-taught institution within the EER (European Economic Area).
  • Proof of full-time English-taught education (statement from the school, signed and stamped) is required.
  • The applicant obtained a diploma from an English-taught program in Australia, Canada (English-speaking part), Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States of America.
  • In addition to the above, applicants must submit:
  • Documented proof of knowledge and skills in the disciplines of programming, data science, and biology.
  • This can be a diploma, certificate, portfolio, or a sufficient grade on an entry test. Applicants can check the diploma comparison site of the national agency NUFFIC to determine the value of their diploma.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

The program requires English proficiency. Acceptable proof includes minimum scores on IELTS (6.0), TOEFL (80), Cambridge Advanced English (B), Cambridge Proficiency English (C), Pearson PTE Academic (61), or LanguageCert Academic (65).
