Degree Overview:
The Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at BI Norwegian Business School aims to equip students with the entrepreneurial skills and mindset needed to start their own companies or contribute to innovation within existing businesses. The program focuses on developing the ability to discover new opportunities, evaluate them, and implement new solutions. It emphasizes handling uncertainty and risk, quickly identifying opportunities, testing solutions, and adapting them to customer needs. Implementation and cooperation skills are key learning outcomes. The program covers the start-up process (including leadership, market segmentation, business modeling, and funding), scale-up challenges and opportunities for sustainable growth, and corporate innovation (including gaining corporate support for innovation efforts and corporate ventures). The program strives to provide engaging learning experiences and quality teaching to build a solid skill and competency base relevant for the future of work. It incorporates experiential learning, allowing students to create new ventures and develop skills for solving business problems, scaling ventures, and understanding entrepreneurship and innovation in corporate settings. The program also fosters networking through BI StartUp, a community for students interested in building an innovation ecosystem.

The program is structured across two years (two semesters per year), each year consisting of 60 ECTS credits.

- New Venture Creation (6 ECTS)
- Ethics and Sustainability in Organizations (6 ECTS)
- Developing the Entrepreneurial Mindset (6 ECTS)
- Financing Entrepreneurial and Corporate Ventures (6 ECTS)
- Spring:
- Scaling and Growth (6 ECTS)
- Developing and Organizing Entrepreneurial Ventures (6 ECTS)
- Foundations of Innovation and Corporate Entrepreneurship (6 ECTS)
- The Crowd, The Cloud, and Sustainable Innovation (6 ECTS)
- Strategy and Entrepreneurship Analytics (6 ECTS)
Year 2:
- Autumn: Students choose one of the following (18 ECTS):
- Start-up Development
- Internship
- Specialization electives
- Exchange
- Additionally, there are 6 ECTS of specialization electives and 6 ECTS for the Master thesis.
- Spring:
- Negotiation and International Networks (6 ECTS)
- Master thesis (24 ECTS) The program includes a core course, GRA 3136 'New Venture Creation' in Semester 1. In Semester 3, students can choose GRA 3113 'Start-Up Development', an internship, or an exchange. Semester 3 options include internships in existing companies or within their own startup.
Teaching:
The program emphasizes engaging learning experiences and quality teaching. It incorporates experiential learning through creating new ventures.
Careers:
Graduates are viable candidates for a broad range of positions and industries, both in Norway and internationally. Examples of positions held by former students include Management Consultant at Capgemini Invent and Partner Development Director at Cognite.
