Program Overview


The Master's in Management, Finance, and Data Analytics at LUMSA University equips graduates with skills in management, finance, and data analysis for careers in companies, financial institutions, and public administrations. The 24-month program focuses on Sustainable Finance and Data Analytics, covering technology, finance, AI, data science, and the impact of digital transformation in the financial sector from an ESG perspective. Graduates are prepared for roles in banking, insurance, and consulting, as well as doctoral programs or further master's degrees.

Degree Overview:

The Master’s Degree in Management, Finance and Data Analytics (MMFDA) at LUMSA University aims to train graduates with specific skills in management, finance, and data analysis. The program prepares graduates to work as managers, consultants, and data analysts for companies, financial institutions, and public administrations. It offers an international learning path integrating functional and sectoral knowledge with innovation and sustainability themes. The program addresses the economic, finance, technological, social, and environmental challenges of the 21st century. The 24-month program includes a curriculum taught in English focusing on Sustainable Finance and Data Analytics (SFDA). For Italian-speaking students, there are also two majors taught in Italian: Administration, financial management and control; and Management and Sustainability.

The program is structured across two academic years. The curriculum in Sustainable Finance and Data Analytics (SFDA) is described as innovative, providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills with a multidisciplinary approach. It covers technological, financial, management, statistical, and sustainability skills, and the impact of digital transformation in banking and financial services from an ESG perspective. Students learn data science tools, work with structured and unstructured data, and apply machine learning techniques in finance. The program also emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and the relevance of humanism in the digital age.

  • Thesis:
  • 22 ECTS/CFU Classes are organized into two semesters per year. The first semester runs from October to December, and the second semester from February to May. There are three exam sessions per year (winter, summer, and autumn), each offering multiple exam dates.

Assessment:

Students must register for exams. The program culminates in a final thesis, evaluated on content, presentation, and defense. A 110-point scale is used for the final assessment; a minimum score of 66 is required to pass (or an average of 18 out of 30). A "lode" (cum laude) distinction may be awarded. To graduate, students need 120 ECTS/CFU credits and must fulfill all curricular requirements, including the thesis defense and have no outstanding financial obligations to the university.


Teaching:

The faculty is highly qualified and includes international scholars and professionals. Teaching methods include traditional and interactive lectures, case studies, seminars, presentations, and group projects. The program emphasizes a stimulating and practical learning environment through direct contact with for-profit and non-profit organizations. The program chair is Prof. Lucia Gibilaro. Careers:

The Sustainable Finance and Data Analytics curriculum prepares graduates for careers in the financial ecosystem, including data analyst roles in banking, insurance, financial services, financial consultancy, and regulatory agencies. Graduates are also prepared to become financial analysts, CFOs, investment bankers, and advisors. The Master's degree also helps in open competition exams for Italian Public Administration employment.


Other:

LUMSA University offers Erasmus and non-Erasmus mobility opportunities for study and traineeships abroad through agreements with universities worldwide. The degree's legal value is recognized in Europe as a second-cycle degree (Diploma di Laurea Magistrale). The Diploma Supplement is provided to enhance international recognition of the qualification.


Participation costs have been set at 4.390,00 euro per year. These costs cover tuition fees, examination and administrative services provided by each academic institution. The payment must be made by bank transfer: LUMSA University, INTESASANPAOLO S.p.A.
