Our training is featured by a practice-oriented approach and a student-centered education, served by modern laboratories, instrumentation, well-equipped classrooms and internships in connection with our institute. Most of our students work in their own agricultural enterprises, they are employed in companies dealing with plant cultivation, horticultural production and animal breeding, and are involved in agricultural administration and agricultural consultancy. With the help of the knowledge that the students acquire at our institute, they are able to find also jobs in a wide variety of fields: food processing, plant protection, environmental and quality control laboratories, environmental and water laboratories.

Short Description

The aim of the training is to educate agricultural engineers with agricultural, technical and economic knowledge. Their skills are based on general scientific knowledge, on knowledge of the European Union, and on an appropriate level of practical knowledge. Engineers are able to direct agricultural production, to adopt technological processes in a given farm as necessary, as well as to introduce new technologies. They recognize the roles to be filled in the food chain. In their work, they seek and prioritize solutions that promote the health of society and individuals, while also protecting the environment. They are prepared to continue their studies for a master's degree.

In addition to traditional agricultural technologies, our aim at the University of Nyíregyháza is to introduce the conditions of innovative ecological farming, landscape management, agri-environmental management, water management and rural development, as well as the technologies of sustainable crop production, horticulture and animal husbandry.

Entry Requirements

• Secondary school leaving certificate
• Good grades in Biology and Chemistry (at least 80%)
• Proof of Language proficiency in English – upper-intermediate level / CEFR B2 level or higher
• Having a language certificate is not a compulsory requirement. English communication skills will be proved in the online interview during the application procedure.

Description of the Selection and the Entrance Examination Process

THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS:

• online interview (20-25 minutes)
• evaluation of application documents

The application procedure is based on an evaluation system of 100 points (50 points are given for motivation and educational background, and the other 50 points for language proficiency and intercultural preparedness according to the online interview). Following the formal check-up of the application documents, the staff of the institute will organize the oral entrance examination.
