Career Opportunities
After finishing the course music teachers will have a better understanding of the Kodály concept and will develop their general musical skills and knowledge.
The students will have an overview of the concept and the choral music education. During the programme the students will gain insight into curriculum planning, study of the pedagogical repertory, lesson planning, and classroom teaching practices.
Short Description
The aim of the Specialist in Kodály-inspired music education course is to train music teachers who are able to put their knowledge at the service of the theory and practice of Kodály music education, and who are qualified to lead school choirs, to perform the music education tasks inherent in it, and to strengthen community awareness.

Admission
Entry Requirements
- School music Teacher’s degree in BA or MA.
- Proof of Language proficiency in English – intermediate level / CEFR B1/B2 level.
- Having a language certificate is not a compulsory requirement. English communication skills will be proved in the online interview during the application procedure.
- A motivation letter must be added to your application.
Entrance Examination
Oral entrance examination via internet: practical entrance examination by using a video connection after submitting a music portfolio.
Entrance Exam
Minimum level of language proficiency: English – intermediate / CEFR B1/B2 level.
Entrance examination mode: Online entrance examination via Microsoft Teams.
Description of the Selection and the Entrance Examination Process
The application procedure is based on an evaluation system of 100 points (50 points are given for motivation, educational background and for language proficiency, the remaining 50 points are given for area-specific skills). Following the formal check up of the application documents, the staff of the institute will organize the oral entrance examination. The entrance exam is successful, if the applicant reaches at least 60 points. For further information regarding the exam topics please, visit our website.
The entry qualification documents are accepted in English. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Please, bring the original entry qualification documents with you when you travel to the university.
Students must do the visa process after the acceptance to the University of Nyíregyháza.
