The program, "Kazanılan Derece Programı," awards a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management. It's a four-year undergraduate program (Lisans programıdır). The objective is to train specialists who can successfully manage human resources and plan careers effectively in an increasingly competitive global environment, adopting new approaches. The program aims to produce graduates equipped with professional knowledge and skills, familiar with current techniques, possessing sufficient professional foreign language proficiency, advanced responsibility awareness, and superior work ethics. Graduates work in Human Resources departments in private or public institutions as specialists or managers. The program develops skills in critical thinking and decision-making supported by analytical and quantitative techniques; effective communication in English and using appropriate information technologies; identifying and solving workplace problems; effective teamwork; understanding and working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.


Outline:

The Human Resources Management undergraduate program consists of 47 courses totaling 240 ECTS credits. Each semester includes at least 5 courses, excluding common compulsory and elective courses. All programs include common compulsory courses determined by the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) and other common courses determined by the University Senate. Elective courses are offered from the third year onwards, with at least 7 elective courses required in each undergraduate program. Students must complete all required courses with a minimum grade of DD/S to graduate. A mandatory internship of a specified duration and quality is also required. The curriculum includes courses covering fundamental concepts and legal knowledge in human resource management; selection, training, placement, interview processes, motivation, performance and career development, salary management, leadership, and control mechanisms within organizational structures; effective and efficient utilization of human resources while ensuring employee motivation and happiness; developing the ability to be qualified and productive personnel and applying these principles in the workplace; computer and necessary program usage; written and oral communication of thoughts and solutions to problems; developing skills in accessing and using information, problem-solving, analytical, holistic, and strategic thinking and decision-making; generating solutions to complex problems using creative thinking and leadership skills; understanding and interpreting the basic concepts of social sciences, economics, and law; developing a work system through the integration of theoretical knowledge with the applications of daily work activities; using information ethically, correctly, and safely with respect for the environment and people; adopting a lifelong learning philosophy in a constantly changing and globalizing world; and following international literature related to the human resources field and communicating with colleagues in other countries. Students must complete 7 technical elective courses from a specified list; these courses cannot be similar to or overlap with previously taken or required courses.


Assessment:

Each course is assessed by the academic staff teaching the course, resulting in a letter grade. Letter grades are converted to ECTS weights. The grading scale includes AA (4.0), BA (3.5), BB (3.0), CB (2.5), CC (2.0), DC (1.5), DD (1.0), and FF (0.0). A minimum grade of DD is required for passing in undergraduate programs; S (Satisfactory) is required for non-credit courses. The I grade can be extended under certain circumstances, but failure to complete requirements will result in an automatic FF or U.


Careers:

Graduates are equipped with computer and communication skills, making them adaptable to various work environments. They are also effective team players. Graduates are employable in both the private and public sectors, finding jobs in marketing, sales, accounting, finance, and human resources management. Employing sectors include banking and financial services, tourism, business services, and public institutions.


Other:

The program is full-time. The program director is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Baykan, Head of Department, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Near East University. To graduate, students need 240 ECTS credits and a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. Students can apply to postgraduate programs after graduation. Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

For domestic students (Turkish students): Admission to this undergraduate program is based on the results of the YKS (University Entrance Exam) as determined by the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK). After students indicate their academic program preferences, the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) places students in the relevant program based on their YKS score. For international students: International students are admitted to this undergraduate program based on their scores from international exams such as the SAT, ACT, or their high school diploma scores. For exchange students: Admission of exchange students is based on the conditions determined by bilateral agreements signed between Near East University (YDÜ) and partner universities. For visiting students: Visiting students may enroll in courses offered in this program with the approval of the relevant academic unit.
