The program is anchored by "Tech Core," a curriculum focused on building interdisciplinary skills. Students learn about IoT technology, operating systems, programming, hardware, connectivity, and security. The program consists of 60 credit hours (minimum). It includes general education courses in communication (ENGL112 Composition, plus one of SPCH275 Public Speaking or SPCH276 Intercultural Communication), humanities (ETHC232 Ethical and Legal Issues in the Professions or ETHC334 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace), social sciences (SOCS185 Culture and Society), mathematics and natural sciences (MATH114 Algebra for College Students or TECH204 Everyday Physics), and personal and professional development (CARD205 Career Development and COLL148 Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving). A program-specific course, Introduction to Technical Project Management (CEIS298), is also included. The embedded Undergraduate Certificate in Information Technology (IT) Essentials consists of 23 credit hours.
Careers:
Graduates of the Associate in Information Technology and Networking program may pursue careers as Computer Network Support Specialists or Computer Systems Analysts.
