Module - Clinical Reasoning and Assessment Skills in Healthcare (CRASH) (Level 6)
Overview
The module adopts a problem-based learning approach and explores applied physical assessment techniques and subsequent clinical skills required for effective treatment, critical thinking skills. Teaching staff will determine the topics which may change over the duration of the module due to the dynamic nature of ambulance practice.
Objectives
By the end of this module, you will:
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and critical evaluation of applied physical assessment techniques.
- Critically analyze and differentiate normal and abnormal physical assessment variants, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the clinical significance.
- Demonstrate critical evaluation of clinical reasoning and the related anatomy and physiology supporting recognition of common injury or medical conditions when in the community.
- Formulate and critically analyze treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Critically analyze how learning from this module has transformed your understanding of your practice.

Summative Assessment:
The summative assessment provides the opportunity for you to demonstrate that you have met the learning outcomes for the module.
For distance learners, the Summative Assessment may be facilitated online.

Report
By default, your final module grade will be an aggregated mark. However, if this box is marked ‘yes,’ then you must also successfully pass this element of assessment in order to pass the module, regardless of the overall aggregated mark.
