Program Overview


Module - Digital Health: Use of Technology in Health and Social Care

This module aims to give you an in-depth understanding of how technology can be used to support health and/or social care outcomes.


This module is suitable to be studied as a stand-alone module and is designed for use across a range of disciplines. It is a pre-requisite for the module - Digital Health: Work-based project. When studied together, these modules form Postgraduate Certificate Digital Health; with the option to build this into either PGDip or MSc.


Digital health encompasses, but is not limited to, Telehealth, Telecare, Telemedicine, Telecoaching, Telerehab, technology enabled care services (TECS).


Examples of technology include video-links for remote consultations, monitoring systems, Apps, software to support rehabilitation, environmental technology.


Students applying to study this module should have a basic level of digital fluency and access to on-line computer facilities and be interested in developing technology within the health and social care arena.
