Program Overview


Module - Digital Health: Work-based Project (stand alone module)

This module aims to support and mentor students through the implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of a digital health project within their practice. This module is designed for use across a range of disciplines.


Successful completion of the module Digital Health: Use of Technology in Health and Social Care is a pre-requisite to studying this module; although it can be studied as a stand-alone module by those with experience in the field of Digital Health.


Students completing both modules form a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital health worth 60 credits, students completing this as a standalone module will receive 40 credits. Students who exit with 40 credits will be eligible for a University transcript of credit. Students can opt to combine credits towards a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters qualification.


Digital health encompasses, but is not limited to, Telehealth, Telecare, Telemedicine, Telecoaching, Telerehab, technology enabled care services (TECS).


Examples of technology include video-links for remote consultations, monitoring systems, Apps, software to support rehabilitation, environmental technology.


Students applying to study this module should have a working knowledge of digital fluency and access to on-line computer facilities and have the opportunity to develop a digital health project within the health and social care arena.

  • Scope and define a digital health project suitable for implementation within your practice.
  • Critically appraise the organisational enablers, challenges and processes associated with the implementation of your digital health project.
  • Critically discuss the implementation plan for your digital health project.
  • Design a robust evaluation strategy for your digital health project.
  • Synthesise key outcomes and learning from your project.

Entry Requirements

Prior successful study at the underpinning level; expected to have a basic level of digital fluency and access to online computer facilities and have successfully completed the pre-requisite module HLLG7102.

Tuition Fees Policy

Tuition fees are set annually and are subject to review each year. The University may therefore raise tuition fees in the second or subsequent years of a course, in line with inflation and/or the maximum permitted by law or government policy.
