Course Overview
This course provides a comprehensive package of knowledge and skills to increase understanding of autism and facilitate effective working patterns between professionals, carers, individuals, and families. The course is relevant to anyone working directly or indirectly with people on the Autism Spectrum, including parents, health professionals, support staff, those working in education and social services.

Course Outline
Course Summary
The aim of this module is to develop your knowledge and understanding of autism, developing an appreciation of individuality through the recognition of neurodiversity. The team involved in course delivery is drawn from both organisations, to ensure that contemporary specialist knowledge and research evidence is an integral part of the course.

Timetables
The teaching timetable should be available from the end of August. Access to the timetable is through the Student Hub – you will be able to access the Student Hub after you have completed online registration. The teaching day is 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday; please keep your other commitments open until confirmation of your teaching timetable, and bear in mind that many courses will offer placements or fieldwork which sometimes extends into the evenings and weekends.
Entry Requirements
- This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to improve and develop their leadership and management skills. There are no pre-requisites and the content is ideal for employees at all levels of work.
- To be eligible to study this module, you must demonstrate the ability to study at Masters level (level 7) and commit to attempting the assessment. The standard entry requirement for level 7 study is successful prior study at the underpinning level, (level 6). When taken as part of a specific named award, the module content and assessment must be focussed towards the subject of that award.
