Course Overview

The English Path IELTS Preparation courses are for students who want to take the IELTS Academic Exam. This course is designed for preparing students at intermediate level and above for the IELTS Exam. It aims to develop your English skills and improve your exam technique.

• Prepare students for the IELTS Academic Exam

Course Details

• Start dates: Every 1st Monday of the month
• Lessons per week: 20-25 Lessons per week
• English Proficiency level: B1+
• Class time: 09.15 – 12:30, 09:00 - 12:15, 13:45 - 17:00
• Cultural programme: 10+ activities a week
• Lesson length: 45 mins
• Course duration: 1 - 10 weeks
• Minimum age: 16+
• Max students per class: 15 students

Course Structure

• Objective-based course structure
• Teacher works closely with students to establish IELTS level and identify areas for improvement
• Study IELTS past papers, focusing on areas of the exam that need improvement
• Progress monitoring and feedback from teachers and academic team

Course Schedule

• Lesson 1: Listening - Note completion
• Lesson 2: Reading skills - Identification of information in a text for True/False/Not given
• Lesson 3: Writing - Task 1: Describing a line graph
• Lesson 4: Speaking - Part 1: Discussing your job or studies

Course Outcomes

• Gain skills needed to speak confidently and succeed in the one-to-one speaking test
• Learn listening strategies such as listening for gist and listening for detail
• Study sample papers and practice exam-style tasks
• Increase academic and general lexical knowledge
• Learn to skim read for meaning, scan for detail, paraphrase, and make inferences
• Learn strategies and methods for various writing tasks

• Attend at least 85% of classes
• Complete all homework given
• Do self-study as directed by the teacher
