General French Course

Overview

The General French programme at EP Paris is designed to help you develop your French language and communication skills, giving you the confidence and ability to function in everyday situations. You will practise your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a communicative approach with the help of our experienced and qualified teachers.

Course Details

• Start dates: Every Monday (except Bank Holidays)
• Lessons per week: 20 lessons per week (15 hours per week)
• English Proficiency level: Beginner to Advanced A1–C1
• Lesson length: 45 mins
• Class time: 09:00 - 12:15 (15-minute break)
• Course duration: 1-44 weeks
• Minimum age: 16 years old
• Max students per class: 15 students

Outcomes

After you take a General French Classic at EP Paris, you should:

• Be able to speak French more confidently and fluently.
• Have improved your listening, reading and writing skills.
• Have developed your French vocabulary knowledge.
• Have a better understanding of complex French grammatical structures.
• Have a greater knowledge of useful functional language needed in everyday real-life situations.

Teaching Methodology

At EP Paris, we use a communicative approach to help you build your confidence in speaking French in real-life situations. We create plenty of opportunities to help you practise the new French language skills you that you built in the classroom.

Lesson Structure

• Lesson 1: 9:00 to 09:45 - Vocabulary: Phrasal verbs : "Get".
• Lesson 2: 09:45 to 10:30 - Reading skills: Skimming and scanning texts.
• BREAK: Coffee time!
• Lesson 3: 10:45 to 11:30 - Grammar: Third Conditional to talk about hypothetical situations in the past.
• Lesson 4: 11:30 to 12:15 - Speaking: Discussing anecdotes with a partner about past situations and further practice of phrasal verbs with ‘get’ in context.

Semi-intensive Course

• English Proficiency level: All levels
• Lesson length: 45-60 mins lessons
• Class time: 09:00 - 13:30
• Course duration: 1-44 weeks

After you take a General French Semi-Intensive course at EP Paris, you should:

• Have improved your listening, reading and writing skills.
• Be able to speak French with more confidence and fluency.
• Have developed your French vocabulary knowledge.

• Have a greater knowledge of useful functional language needed in everyday real-life situations.

• Lesson 4: 11:30 to 12:15 - Skills: Listening for gist and detail and speaking for accuracy and fluency. Grammar and Vocabulary: e.g. Making requests, telling and understanding times and using polite language and structures.
• Lesson 5: 12:30 to 13:30 - Speaking: Focus on fluency

One-To-One Course

Overview

Our General French One-to-One course allows you to learn French at your own pace and on your own time to achieve your language goals. We begin by helping you to discover language learning goals before creating a customised, one-to-one course that will cater to your specific needs, whether your goal is to enhance your French reading, writing, listening, or speaking skills.
