Overview

Our MSc Music Technology degree course is ideal if you have a creative computing background and want to develop the skills needed to become a professional audio specialist. You'll plan and produce a personal project, and we'll provide the expertise and support so you can develop your professional practice.

When you graduate, you'll have all the tools you need for a career in the creative and media industries.

Entry Requirements

• Eligibility: This course accepts UK, EU, and International students.
• UK qualifications: A second-class honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject or a master's degree in an appropriate subject.
• Non-UK qualifications: If you're applying as an international student with a non-UK degree, you’ll need to show you meet the UK entry requirements listed above.
• English language requirements: English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 5.5.

Course Costs and Funding

• Tuition fees:
  • UK, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man students: £9,400 (full-time), £4,700 per year (part-time)
  • EU students: £9,400 (full-time), £4,700 per year (part-time)
  • International students: £17,900 (full-time), £8,950 per year (part-time)

• Core modules:
  • Professional, Academic and Research Development (30 credits)
  • Project Context and Definition (30 credits)
  • Project Design and Development (60 credits)
  • Project Evaluation and Resolution (60 credits)

• Music and Sound Recording Studios: Our high-end professional music studio complex houses three studios, two live rooms, editing rooms, and a vocal booth.
• Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCIXR): Create stunning works for film, TV, music, gaming and immersive reality in the UK's first integrated facility of its kind.

Careers and Opportunities

• Career support: You'll benefit from networking events, 1-to-1 appointments, CV and cover letter advice, interview preparation and practice, workshops to enhance your employability skills, and recruitment events.
• Supporting you: Master's study is more focused on independent learning than undergraduate study, but you'll get lots of support via video, phone and face-to-face from teaching and support staff to enhance your learning experience and help you succeed.
